The Federal Government has approved the promotion of 1,163 officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), in a move aimed at boosting morale and strengthening the Corps’ capacity to deliver safer roads across Nigeria.

The approval, conveyed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to recognising hard work, professionalism, and dedication to service.

The breakdown of the promotion shows: 128 Chief Route Commanders elevated to Assistant Corps Commanders (ACC); 395 Superintendent Route Commanders to Chief Route Commanders (CRC); 310 Route Commanders to Superintendent Route Commanders (SRC); 91 Deputy Route Commanders to Route Commanders (RC); and 239 Assistant Route Commanders promoted to Deputy Route Commanders (DRC).

Commending the officers for their service, the SGF noted that the exercise reflects the government’s confidence in the FRSC and its personnel to deliver on their mandate of ensuring road safety nationwide.

He urged the newly promoted officers to see their elevation as a call to higher responsibility and rededicate themselves to national service.

Reacting, the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, expressed appreciation to the Federal Government for the approval, describing it as a morale booster that will inspire greater dedication among FRSC staff.

He reiterated that the exercise aligns with his focus on career progression, staff motivation, and organisational excellence, while charging the officers to maintain the highest standards of discipline, integrity, and professionalism.
