The Federal Government has declared Thursday, December 25, and Friday, December 26, 2025, as public holidays to mark Christmas and Boxing Day celebrations.
It also declared Wednesday, January 1, 2026, as a public holiday to celebrate the New Year.
In a statement issued on Monday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr Magdalene Ajani, the Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo called on Nigerians to use the Christmas season to reflect on the core values of love, peace, humility and sacrifice exemplified by the birth of Jesus Christ.
