Former Lagos Legislators Pay Condolence Visit to Family of Late Speaker

Former members of the Lagos State House of Assembly in the third republic, have paid a condolence visit to the family of their Speaker, Mr. Abayomi Kinyomi who died recently.

Mr Kinyomi who represented Amuwo Odofin Constituency died on Tuesday last week at 82 years.

Speaking on behalf of the former lawmakers, Mr. Adebowale Olasoji, who then represented Ikeja Constituency One, described Mr. Kinyomi as a honest and exceptional leader who carried everyone along in the scheme of things when he was alive.

He stressed that Mr. Kinyomi lived a life worthy of emulation in view of his sterling leadership as Speaker of the House as he upheld unity and equity which positioned the state at an enviable height.

Mr. Olasoji advised those in positions of authority to rededicate themselves to acts that would improve the living conditions of others.

Responding, the Widow, Mrs Oluyinka Kinyomi appreciated the former lawmakers for the visit, describing her husband as lover of peace who dedicated his life to the development of the state.

She said that the late Speaker would be greatly missed for his humanitarian services to his family, friends and Amuwo Odofin which he represented at the Assembly.

Other former members of the third Lagos Assembly present during the condolence visit included Mr. Rahman Kayode Adeleye who represented Mushin Constituency Two, Mr. Sakiru Salami of Surulere Constituency Two, Mr. Níyì Fabikun of Oshodi- Isolo Constituency Two, Mr. Afeez Ipesa-Balogun, of Oshodi- Isolo Constituency Two and Mr Micheal Ebalulu of Ikeja Constituency Two.

Mr Abayomi Kinyomi served as Speaker of the Lagos State Assembly between January 1992 and November 1993.
