
The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Lagos Operations, has been honoured with a recognition award for its partnership and support in promoting the work of social workers.
The recognition was given at the 2026 International Social Work Conference to commemorate International Social Work Day organised by the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development in collaboration with the Nigerian Association of Social Workers.
The award was received by Florence Ubajekwe of the Corporate Development and Communications Department and presented to the Director, Lagos Operations, Princess Adenike Adegoke.
“I cover the social story and try to make an impact in social works and I thank God that Radio Nigeria is represented. It would not end here, we would continue coming up.” She said.

In a response, the Director Lagos Operations of FRCN, Princess Adenike Adegoke, appreciated the Nigerian Association of Social Workers, Lagos State Chapter.
The FRCN Lagos Operations Director, said that Radio Nigeria, being the mother of broadcasting in Nigeria would continue to do more according to its social responsibility mandate of uplifting the people and uniting the Nation.
“This is a job well done by Radio Nigeria which is being appreciated by Nigerian Association of Social Workers, Lagos State Chapter and the onions is on us to continue to do more than we have been doing.”
“Radio Nigeria is the mother of broadcasting, at 75, we are doing so well and we must continue to do more.”
Princess Adenike Adegoke, added that Radio Nigeria at 75 with extensive coverage across the country and beyond remains a powerful medium for enlightenment, education and national integration and would continue to do more.
The 2026 International Social Work Conference, themed “Co-Building Hope and Harmony: A Harambee Call to Unite a Divided Society,” brought together stakeholders to discuss social challenges and the role of social workers in building a resilient society.
