FRSC Mourns Student Killed in Dangote Trucks Crash, Vows Safer Roads

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has expressed deep grief over the death of Miss Ruth Otabor, who sustained fatal injuries in a road crash involving a Dangote truck and a commercial motorcycle near Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State.

FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, commiserated with Otabor’s family, the Auchi Polytechnic community, and the Students Union, praying for the repose of her soul.

The Corps said it has intensified engagements with critical stakeholders, including the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and major fleet operators such as Dangote and BUA, to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.

Part of the efforts include structured training and recertification programmes for heavy truck drivers.

Reaffirming its commitment to road safety, FRSC noted that the tragedy underscores the need for collective responsibility in safeguarding lives.
