FRSC Prevents Tragedy in Six-Vehicle Crash on Epe–Ajah Road‎

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has averted what could have been a major tragedy following a six-vehicle collision along the Epe–Ajah corridor in Lagos on Thursday.

‎The incident, which occurred at about 2:46 p.m. near Alaro City, was reportedly caused by a broken-down truck that obstructed part of the bridge.

According to the Lagos Sector Command of the FRSC, 15 persons were involved in the crash—13 men and two women. One female passenger sustained injuries and was taken to hospital, but no deaths were recorded.

‎Operatives of the FRSC from Corridor Command 13 and Epe Unit Command, working with the Nigeria Police, quickly secured the accident scene, administered first aid, and controlled traffic to prevent further crashes.

Tow trucks were also deployed to remove the obstruction.

‎Lagos Sector Commander, Corps Commander Kehinde G. Hamzat, praised the swift action of the rescue team led by SRC Ande Apollo.

He, however, warned motorists against speeding, urging them to exercise patience when approaching broken-down vehicles or other obstructions on the highway.

‎Commander Hamzat also reminded truck owners and fleet operators of their duty to properly maintain their vehicles before putting them on the road, stressing that faulty trucks endanger the lives of other road users.

‎The FRSC assured the public of its continued commitment to safer highways, prompt rescue services, and improved traffic management across Lagos and beyond.
