Pupils of Ha-Hesed Schools recently embarked on an enriching excursion to Radio Nigeria Lagos Operations in Ikoyi, where they were given a firsthand look into the world of broadcasting.
The young learners were warmly welcomed by the Corporate Development and Communication Department, led by Mrs. Tessie-Pete Ogu, who guided them through various departments during their visit.
At the live studio, Producer Mr. Uche Uwadinachi introduced the pupils to Presenter Mr. Henry Emenike, who explained the basics of radio presentation and demonstrated the functions of key broadcasting equipment.
In a lively interactive session, three enthusiastic pupils shared their dreams of becoming radio personalities: Master Michael Jordan said he hopes to inspire people through radio.Master Harrison Haruna expressed a desire to read the news on air.
Miss Peculiar Patrick simply wants her voice to be heard by the public.
The Headteacher, Rev. Tunde Adelaja, described the visit as a success, praising its educational value and announcing plans to make Radio Nigeria a regular excursion destination for future students.
The tour also included a stop at the Radio Nigeria Museum, where Curator Mrs. Nike Akintayo led the pupils through exhibits of vintage radio equipment and archives. The visit ended at the Knowledge Center, where the children were entertained and encouraged to explore their interests further.
This unique excursion not only educated the pupils about the inner workings of radio broadcasting but also ignited fresh career aspirations among them.
Radio Nigeria staff expressed delight at the children’s enthusiasm, noting that the future of media may very well include these young voices.
