Herbal Medicine Association Declares War Against Counterfeit Dealers to Safeguard Public Health

The National Association of Herbal Medicine Employers (NAHME) has announced its plan to crackdown on counterfeit and unregistered herbal medicine dealers nationwide.

In a letter dated September 7, 2023, addressed to the Inspector General of Police and signed by Chief Dr. Yemi Areola and Oduyori Francis, President and Secretary, NAHME emphasized its status as a registered trade union under the trade unions acts’ CAPT.14 trade unions amendment act 2005.

The Association, dedicated to the healing and protection of lives through herbs, aims to monitor its members’ activities, ensuring adherence to ethical practices and the association’s regulations.

Expressing concern over the escalating presence of fake and unregistered herbal medicine dealers across the country, NAHME emphasized the potential health hazards posed by such activities.

Highlighting the urgency of addressing this issue, they stressed the need to promptly eliminate unethical practices that could detrimentally impact public health.

The Association emphasized its commitment to identifying and removing detrimental elements from society to safeguard the well-being of citizens relying on herbal treatments for their ailments.
