The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) is set to inaugurate its newly established Aviation Chapter.

This marks a significant milestone in the efforts to strengthen financial governance and strategic integration within the country’s aviation industry.

The official launch next week Tuesday has the Theme “Flightpath to Financial Excellence: Integrating Strategy, Systems, and Standards,” and the event will convene key stakeholders from across the aviation and finance sectors, including regulatory authorities, government representatives, and professionals from airports, airlines, and related agencies.

In a news statement, the ICAN Aviation Chapter is conceived as a specialized platform to address the unique financial challenges and opportunities within the aviation sector.

It aims to foster professional development, promote ethical leadership, and facilitate strategic dialogue between financial experts and aviation operators.

According to ICAN, the Chapter’s formation reflects the growing need for sector-specific financial expertise amid the evolving regulatory and economic landscape of Nigeria’s aviation industry.

By bringing together chartered accountants with deep experience in aviation finance and management, the institute hopes to drive impactful contributions to sustainable growth and corporate governance in the sector.

The inaugural ceremony will also feature the formal investiture of Mr. Ayodele Olatiregun, FCA, as the pioneer chairman of the Aviation Chapter, alongside other experienced professionals who will form the chapter’s executive leadership.

During the event, the Chapter will unveil its roadmap for the year ahead, highlighting planned activities aimed at enhancing knowledge sharing, regulatory engagement, capacity building, and networking within the aviation finance community.

ICAN has extended an invitation to members with a passion for aviation and financial excellence to join the chapter and be part of shaping a future where sound financial systems support the continued growth and transformation of Nigeria’s aviation industry.
