The Institute of Change Management (ICM) has called for an ethical and human-centred approach in adopting technology to drive transformation across sectors.
This was part of the resolutions reached at the institute’s maiden annual conference held in Lagos, which brought together policymakers, industry leaders, academics, and change management professionals.
With the theme “Navigating to the Future: Synchronising People, Processes and Technology for the Next Era of Change,” the conference explored how organisations can balance innovation with inclusivity and ethical practices.
Presenting the communiqué, ICM Registrar Joseph Anetor noted that technology serves as both an enabler and a disruptor, stressing the need for a balanced adoption that reflects local realities while promoting trust, engagement, and capacity building.
The communiqué emphasised that successful transformation requires proactive and adaptive management, where processes are re-engineered to foster agility, innovation, and collaboration.
ICM resolved to deepen partnerships with government, private sector and development agencies to mainstream change management in national policy and corporate practice, while urging organisations to institutionalized frameworks that integrate people, process and technology for sustainable impact.
