IGP Deploys 404 New Constables To Home States

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, has announced the deployment of 404 newly recruited constables from the Police College, Ikeja, to their respective states of origin as part of efforts to enhance professionalism and accountability within the force.

The recruits are among the 30,000 officers enlisted earlier this year under the approval of President Bola Tinubu to boost the manpower of the Nigeria Police Force.

Speaking at the passing-out ceremony, Mr. Egbetokun represented by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2, Mr. Adegoke Fayoade emphasized the importance of integrity and dedication to duty among the new officers.

He noted that the nationwide graduation of recruits marked a significant milestone in strengthening national security and deepening public trust in the police.

The IGP disclosed that the latest batch brought the total number of recruits trained since he assumed office to 20,000, adding that they had undergone six months of intensive training focused on modern policing standards, community engagement, and intelligence-led operations.
