Residents of Governor’s Road, Ikotun in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State have expressed frustration over a power outage lasting more than ten days, accusing Ikeja Electric of neglect and poor communication.
Speaking on behalf of the community, the Chairman of Igando Peace Estate Phase IV CDA, Mr. Emmanuel Joseph, said the prolonged blackout has brought untold hardship to households and businesses, disrupting daily activities and forcing residents to seek costly and environmentally unfriendly alternatives.
Mr. Joseph added that beyond the financial burden and economic loss, residents are more troubled by the silence from Ikeja Electric, noting that the lack of information has left consumers uncertain about the cause of the outage, the timeline for restoration, or steps being taken to resolve the issue.
The residents have therefore called on Ikeja Electric to urgently restore power supply and improve communication with affected communities.
