The Supreme Head, Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church Nigeria, Prophet Solomon Alao has said that the influx of insurgents from the North into the South of Nigeria is dangerous and should be halted.

Alao raised the alarm at the ongoing 100th anniversary of the Church, held at the Love of Christ Generation Church Victoria Island, Lagos State.

The supreme head, decried the harmful effects of insurgency in the country for decades, saying that its influx into the South area of the country would amount to an envelope of the whole nation in crisis.

The Church’s anniversary began on Thursday and will end on Sunday with a thanksgiving service.

The Theme of the anniversary is: Preparing The Church for The Set Time”, taken from Psalm 102 verse 13.

Alao said that there was palpable fear in the south that insurgents of the north had taken over the forest with the dreaded stories of killings of natives in their farms and other places.

Alao called on the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government to be more proactive in the fight against insecurity.

According to him, prevention of the spread of the crisis to other parts of the country will enable people to go to the farms and produce food to check food insecurity.

“President Tinubu should motivate the security operatives to fight the insurgents in the north and halt them from entering the relatively peaceful Southern region,” he said.

The Prophet demanded the release of the incarcerated leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to foster peace in the South-East.

He urged Nigerians to be wary of politicians who use religion and tribalism to divide the people for self-serving.

He appealed to the governments to fight corruption, reduce the cost of governance, boost food security, and engage religious leaders in social mobilization for better reach to the people and better outcomes.

The church leaders said that the church “Is no longer a Nigerian-based church, as we operate in Europe, the Americas, Canada, and many countries in Africa.

“The C&S was initiated in 1916 by St. Moses Orimolade Tunolase and formally Christened in 1925 through Divine revelations.

“This explains why my humble self calls the 2025 celebrations coming up in September as our Christening anniversary,”

Meanwhile, Rev. Mother Esther Ajayi, Founder of Love of Christ Generation Church appreciated the leadership of the Church for divine guidance.

She thanked God for the grace to be counted as a preacher of the gospel and affirmed that so much has been done in the area of evangelism that a lot remained to be accomplished.

She envisioned a better Nigerian society and called on people to always pray for the country’s leaders for God’s grace and wisdom to lead well.

“We are a community placed on the hill and we cannot be hidden, ” she said.
