JAMB Releases 2025 Mop-Up UTME Results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of results for the 2025 Mop-Up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In a statement issued by the Board, it revealed that of the 96,838 candidates scheduled to sit for the mop-up examination, the results of 11,161 candidates who were present and complied with examination protocols have been released.

The Board clarified that candidates unable to access their results likely failed to adhere to the prescribed instructions.

Specifically, such candidates were required to send “UTMERESULT” (as a single word text) to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during their UTME registration.

Crackdown on Fake Admission Letters

Meanwhile, JAMB provided an update on its ongoing clampdown on fraudulent admission practices.

The Board disclosed that it had uncovered a fake JAMB admission letter syndicate, resulting in the arrest of five ringleaders and the identification of 17,417 candidates as beneficiaries of the scam.

From 2024 to May 2025, a total of 6,903 candidates flagged for minor discrepancies in their admission records were successfully cleared.

However, 10,514 candidates have been referred to designated police investigation offices.

Among these:5,669 candidates were found to have procured forged admission letters outrightly

4,832 candidates had legitimate admissions which were not previously disclosed to JAMB.

These candidates, instead of waiting for proper condonement under the 2017–2020 ministerial waiver, opted to use the fraudulent syndicate to circumvent the process.
