Kwara Police Commissioner Visits Eruku After Security Breach

The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, CP Adekimi Ojo, on Tuesday paid an assessment visit to Eruku community in Ekiti Local Government Area following reports of a recent security breach in the area.

In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the Commissioner was received by the Divisional Police Officer of Eruku Division and other tactical commanders earlier deployed to evaluate the situation and coordinate an immediate security response.

Accompanied by the State Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr. Micheal Oganwu, CP Ojo also paid a courtesy visit to the Owa of Eruku Land, Oba Busari Ayinde Oyediran Olarenwaju, Amuludunloye I.

The traditional ruler expressed appreciation for the swift intervention of security agencies and called for increased deployment to protect lives and property in the community.

CP Ojo later held an interactive session with community leaders, local vigilante groups and residents to gather firsthand accounts of the incident and to reassure them of the Command’s commitment to restoring peace and security.

The security delegation also visited the Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Isegun, where the resident pastor, Mr. Bamidele, narrated how the attack unfolded and conducted officials around the affected parts of the church premises.

According to SP Ejire-Adeyemi, the Commissioner of Police has initiated a strategic review of the incident, focusing on deploying sufficient personnel and resources to rescue any victims, apprehend the perpetrators and maintain law and order in the area.

She added that further updates will be provided as investigations progress.
