Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State have unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office, urging him to build on his ongoing reforms and developmental strides.
The endorsement was made at the APC Lagos State Stakeholders Forum, which drew top political leaders, traditional rulers, market associations, youth groups, and other interest groups across the state.
The motion for the endorsement was proposed by the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, and seconded by the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said the decision reflected the collective resolve of Lagosians to support Tinubu, describing him as a visionary leader whose policies continue to impact the nation positively.
Former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, who delivered a lecture titled “Voter Apathy and the Sanctity of Elections in Nigeria’s Budding Democracy,” tasked the party on strategies to tackle low voter turnout.

He stressed the need for a functional reward system and policies that would rekindle enthusiasm among party members and the electorate, noting that only about 30 percent of Nigeria’s 93 million registered voters participated in the 2023 polls.
APC Lagos State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, announced a ₦20 million prize for the local government with the highest number of new voter registrations and ₦5 million for the best-performing ward.
He urged members to mobilise eligible citizens to register and collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to strengthen the party’s electoral chances ahead of 2027.
Representing the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the party’s National Secretary, Senator Bashiru Ajibola, dismissed claims that the defection of some opposition governors to the APC could lead to a one-party system, noting that Nigeria’s democracy guarantees freedom of association.
The forum also provided a platform for federal and state lawmakers to present their achievements and rally grassroots support for the APC, as stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining Lagos’ leadership role in national politics.
