Lagos FA Cup Reaches Semifinal Stage

MFM International FC made it back to back victories under 24 hours after they came from behind to snatch a 3-1 win over Ikorodu City today in the quarter final of the Lagos State FA Cup competition.

Having dismantled Enyimba International 2-1 in an NPFL game played yesterday in Ijebu Ode, striker Dayo Alade made sure the winning spirit continued as he bagged a second half hattrick at the Legacy Pitch in Lagos to shoot his side to the state’s FA Cup semifinal.

Ikorodu City’s captain Sebastian had fired his team ahead in the 1st half with a beautifully side footed long ranger that angled away from MFM keeper Abiodun Folarin into the top right hand corner of the goal frame.

The goal unsettled MFC thru out the first half until Alade’s 2nd half hattrick settled matters.

MFM will now play Ottasolo FC in one of Thursday’s semifinal matches, also billed for Legacy Pitch.

To get to the semifinal stage, Ottasolo relied on two coolly dispatched penalties in the 1st half by Ademola and an expertly curled freekick by dead ball specialist Isaac Afolabi to beat BYT Academicals 3nil.

Elsewhere Dannaz FC defeated Smart City Feeders 2nil to set up a semi final clash with Smart City FC who edged out Sporting FC 1nil.

Both semifinals will be played on Thursday 23 June 2022 at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
