Lagos High Court Begins Annual Vacation, 18 Judges Assigned for Urgent Cases

The Lagos State High Court has officially commenced its annual long vacation, marking the end of the 2024/2025 legal year and a pause in regular court activities.

According to a notice dated June 5 and signed by the Chief Registrar, Tajudeen Elias, the vacation will run from July 21 to September 12, 2025, in line with Order 49 Rule 4(D) of the High Court of Lagos State (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019.

While all divisions of the court are expected to observe the break, the Criminal Division will remain operational to handle urgent matters.

In addition, 18 judges have been appointed as vacation judges to sit across the court’s seven judicial divisions, ensuring continuity for critical and time-sensitive cases.
