Plan is underway to transform the Olusosun dumpsite in Ojota to a recreational hub.
Managing Director/CEO Lagos State Waste Management Authority, LAWMA, Dr Muyiwa Gbadegesin, made this known at a forum in Lagos.
Dr Gbadegesin hinted that the Olusosun dumpsite would be decommissioned within eighteen months, with plans to convert the reclaimed land into recreational use.
He restated the state government’s commitment to advancing sustainable waste management through technology, recycling and public education.
The LAWMA MD highlighted the economic opportunities in Lagos’ waste sector, stressing that waste separation at source could unlock billions of naira in value, while creating jobs.
