Lagos Slashes Blue Line Train Fare by 50% to Mark Anniversary

‎Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved a 50 percent reduction in fares on the Lagos Blue Line train service for Thursday, September 4, 2025.

‎The Governor said the move is part of activities marking the second anniversary of the rail project, which commenced commercial operations in September 2023 on the Marina–Mile 2 corridor.

‎According to him, the Blue Line has so far conveyed more than five million passengers safely in the past two years without any record of accidents.

He added that trains now operate every ten minutes, completing over 90 trips daily, significantly easing travel time for commuters.

‎Governor Sanwo-Olu described the milestone as proof of the state’s commitment to providing safe, reliable, and modern transportation for residents.

He urged Lagosians to take advantage of the special fare reduction to experience the Blue Line.

‎The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to continue expanding the state’s transportation system to ensure easier, safer, and faster movement across Lagos.
