As the strike embarked upon by the Joint Drivers Welfare Association of Nigeria enters day four today, the leadership of the association have called its members to resume normal transport operations tomorrow Saturday.

The earlier planned seven-day strike action was briefly called off to allow the Association and members of the Lagos State Parks and Garden Management Committee come up with a lasting solution to the issues of extortion and harrassment.

According to one of its leaders, Comrade Ezekiel Adediran, after listening to series of allegations and assault on members of the association and their demands, the representatives of the State government said they are determined to end the strike action

Comrade Ezekiel Adediran, told Radio Nigeria that another meeting is to be scheduled with the Parks and Garage Management in order to harmonize the issues at hand.

The Lagos State Parks and Garage Management also agreed to set up a committee to monitor it’s members and the levies being collected from the transport operators in the state.
