The 2023 Batch “A” Stream Two National Youths Corps Members posted to Lagos State taking their Oath of Allegiance during the Swearing-in held at the NYSC temporary Orientation camp, Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos.

The Lagos State Government has commended the National Youths Corps members for their contributions towards the success of the 2023 General elections.

The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Relations, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende gave the commendation at the Swearing-in of the 2023 Batch “A” Stream Two Corps Members posted to Lagos state, held at the NYSC, Orientation Camp, Iyana Ipaja.

He said that the role of INEC Ad-hoc staff that the Corps Members played during the elections enabled them to contribute their quotas towards sustaining democratic rule in the country.

He expressed the Lagos State government’s appreciation at the sacrifices the Corps members  made especially when some of them had to go to remote areas where they were not conversant with within the state to carry out the National assignment.

Mr. Ogunlende however, called on the Corps members just posted to the state to emulate their predecessors by building on the excellent works they had done in Lagos State over the years.

He also advised the Corps members to take advantage of the various empowerment programmes lined up for them in the course of the Orientation course, as these would enable them to acquire some vocational skills that could put food on their tables during and after the service year.

He specifically encouraged them to key into a Special Social Media Platform already provided in the orientation camp to help Corps members to socialise and engage in profitable networking capable of exposing them to opportunities around the world.

On his part, the Managing Director, Lagos Waste Management Authority, LAWMA, Mr. Ibraheem Odumboni said his organisation was in partnership with the National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, Lagos State to educate Corps members on the benefits of Circle economy.

He explained that by being exposed to the benefits inherent in Waste Management and Circle Economy, the Corps members would be enlightened on how they could start their own businesses in the Waste management sector without necessarily seeking for a white collar job after their National service.

The Director,  NYSC Lagos State, Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa however, called on the Corps members to be of good conduct during and after their Orientation course.

Justice  Aderera Adeyemi later administered the Oath of allegiance on the Corps members on behalf of the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Kazeem Alogba.
