At least three people were rescued on Monday after a diesel-laden tanker, a commercial minibus, and two trailers were involved in a chain of crashes that triggered a fire explosion along the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway in Lagos.
According to the Senior Public Affairs Officer of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs. Maria Fadairo, the incident occurred when the tanker, conveying diesel from Apapa inward Oshodi, collided with a minibus.
The collision set off a chain reaction involving two trailers, including a flatbed and a forty-foot container truck, resulting in an explosion and fire outbreak.
Mrs. Fadairo added that firefighters swiftly extinguished the blaze and conducted mop-up operations to secure the area.
