The Lagos State government has urged youths to discover and maximize their potential as it remains committed to supporting them to thrive and compete with their global counterparts.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism Arts and Culture, Mr Idris Aregbe, stated this at the first anniversary celebration of the Lagos Tourism Ambassador, Ms Pelumi Nubi travel from London to Lagos, held at J.Randle Center for Yoruba Culture and History, Onikan.
Ms Pelumi Nubi embarked on the sixty-eight days journey in January 2024 and arrived in Lagos on April 7th, having travelled through seventeen countries and had an accident in her Toyota Peugeot 107.
Mr Idris stated that the milestone of achievement and doggedness of the travel content creator worth celebrating to inspire more youths to achieve greatness.
“And to many Nigerians out there and Lagosians especially youths, whatever you set your mind on, dream it and bring it to fruition, the Lagos State government, my Governor, your Governor, Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu will support your dreams and make it thrive for a better society” Idris explained
Appreciating the state government for believing in her, Ms Nubi maintained that feat was to showcase Lagos and Africa to the world, while her father Professor Timothy Nubi also expressed enthusiasm and gladness on the acceptability and accolades his daughter had received after the London to Lagos journey.
“I just want to thank the Lagos State government for believing in me and supporting me in the last one year, I am overwhelmed especially the Special Adviser, Mr Idris Aregbe, I will forever be grateful, it has been a tremendous one year and I can share more and more about it” Pelumi said
“To the thousands of mothers and fathers that Pelumi has had in the last one year, we are grateful, to his excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu and the special Adviser, we appreciate your love and support and I must specifically thank you for immortalizing Pelumi’s car and celebrating her, it will spur her to more actions and achievements” Professor Nubi said.

The purple Peugeot 107 with number plate DY 62 FDM, which has since been placed at the J.Randle Center for Yoruba Culture and History, was re-unveiled while Tourism enthusiasts were taken round the center to see the rich cultural heritage of Lagos.
