The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has sealed the offices of PWAN Max Property and Business Solutions Limited in Sangotedo, along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, over allegations of failing to allocate 20 plots of land fully paid for by a consumer.
The commission said the enforcement action followed repeated violations of its directives and compliance notices.
Speaking during the operation, the FCCPC South-West Zonal Coordinator, Dr. Olubunmi Otti, said the action was carried out in accordance with the FCCPC Act 2018.
She explained that the commission received complaints from subscribers and launched an investigation, but the company allegedly ignored two invitations issued to address the matter.
According to Dr. Otti, the company later responded to a summons and undertook to allocate the plots and provide all necessary documentation by June 30, 2025. However, it reportedly failed to fulfil the commitment, prompting the commission to issue a Compliance Notice.
Despite being given ample time to remedy the situation, the company allegedly failed to comply.
She stated that the company would be required to refund affected consumers and warned that failure to do so could attract prosecution under the provisions of the law.
Dr. Otti added that the premises would remain sealed until the company fully remedies the breach and obtains a compliance certificate from the commission.
Some affected subscribers who were present during the sealing exercise shared their frustrations, claiming they paid substantial sums for land that was never allocated.
One subscriber said she paid a total of ₦1 million but had been unable to secure her plot despite several visits.
Another said he stopped making installment payments after losing confidence in the process and had since been seeking a refund.
Efforts to get a response from the company were unsuccessful, as staff members reportedly claimed they were engaged in a five-day fasting and prayer programme for the business.
