LASG Launches Upgraded Interactive Platform with Residents

To further ensure effective communication between it and residents, the Lagos State Government on Thursday launched an upgraded version of its resident interactive platform known as Citizens Gate two point zero.

The digital platform, available as Web based and application amd also accessible via on WhatsApp was created in 2017 to ensure improved service delivery by bridging the communication gaps between the different Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government and residents.

At a news briefing in Alausa, Ikeja, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Civic Engagement, Princess Aderemi Adebowale, who announced that CitizensGate 2.0 is now live stated that Lagosians should make judicious use of the paltform to file complaints, share pictures and videos of bad roads in their communities among others as it has been redesigned to serve as an avenue for the social and economic development of the State and residents alike.

“The platform will be made available free to citizen, tourists, friends of Lagos including people in the diaspora and everyone via Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Social Media Platforms and more for real time direct access to Lagos State Government and its activities through both smart phone and non-smart phone users on a 24/7 toll free non-emergency number to put a call across to the Citizens Gate Customer Service Centre for enquiries or complaints at the command and control centre.” she said.

The Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr Hakeem Fahm, explained that the platform was redesigned to meet up with the increasing population in Lagos State, leverage on technology to automate and use data to plan for accountability, Integrity and participatory e-Governance.

Mr Fahm expressed optimism that the citizens gate platform would provide immediate and efficient feedback from both the citizens and the government.

CitizensGate 2.0, which is being run as a Public-Private partnership is domesticated in all government’s MDAs with dedicated staff members to provide residents with feedback, population profiling and tracking of government’s performances among others.
