Ad-hoc staff of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) have begun arriving at polling units across the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area ahead of today’s local government elections.
The electoral officers are setting up at various polling stations in Bolade, Ewutuntun, Arowojobe, Mafoluku, Shogunle, as well as the Seven and Eight areas, in preparation for the voting exercise.
Earlier in the day, election materials were distributed from the LASIEC office in Bolade to the seven wards within the council area.
The distribution process is reportedly proceeding smoothly, with no incidents of delays or missing materials.
Security has been visibly heightened, with multiple patrol vehicles stationed across the area to ensure law and order.
Compliance with the government’s restriction order is evident, as major parks and bus stops remain deserted.
At several polling units, voters were seen waiting patiently for the arrival of officials, while some had already formed queues, eager to cast their votes.
