LSFA Reawakens Lagos Street Soccer Championship, Sets Up Committee.

The Lagos State Football Association LSFA has underscored it’s commitment to reawaken components of the game in the state with the appointment of a committee for Street Soccer Championship.

The LSFA chairman Fouad Alade Oki announced Bolaji Yusuf as chairman of the committee at the Inauguration of the Management Committee of Lagos Iconic Football Competitions held today at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere.

Street Soccer Championship, Oba cup, Principal cup, IBILE cup and Lagos Junior League are some of the components of the game the LSFA had pledged to resuscitate.

The committee for the Lagos Street Soccer Championship also has Hon. Olatunji Aru Issa Folami as Vice Chairman and Mr. Deji Aladegbemi as Secretary.

Other members of the committee include Hon. Samiat Bada, Hon. Ladi Balogun. Hon. Abiola Yisa, Coach Taiwo Oloyede, Mr. Phemmy Adetula, Mr. Yomi Kuku, Mr. Ayeni Saheed, Mr. Joash Manuwa, Mr. Amoo Olanrewaju Yusuf, Mr. Musbau Oseni, Mr. Tunji Ekemode, Mr. Toyin Oginni and Alhaji Zakaria Abdullahi.

In his reaction to the appointment, Mr. Bolaji Yusuf, fondly called “BJ” , said this was a call to service and an opportunity to serve the motherland:

“I want to thank our amiable Chairman Fouad Oki for finding me worthy to serve as the Chairman of the Lagos Street Soccer committee. I understand the enormity of this task and most importantly the need to engage youths through sport at this critical point in our national development.

“Street Soccer is a unique game with techniques and dimensions and I will work diligently with my committee members to ensure we get the task done.”
