The Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC) has commenced rehabilitation of failed sections of TOS Benson Road near the Police Post junction in Ikorodu to improve traffic flow along the corridor.
In a statement issued by the agency’s Head of Public Affairs, Dr. Samuel Ayetutu, the project will include repairs of the cross culvert at the junction, which channels water from the Ikorodu Garage and General Hospital axis into a nearby canal.
The rehabilitation will also extend to parts of Ibeshe Road, where poor road conditions have slowed vehicular movement.
According to the statement, the first phase of the work will begin from 11:00 p.m. on Friday through the early hours of Saturday, with full-scale operations scheduled to commence a week later.
Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes during the exercise.
Vehicles heading from Ogolonto towards the General Hospital axis are to divert through Apena Jumbo Street, while those traveling from Ogolonto to Ibeshe can continue on the usual route but should expect delays.
Articulated vehicles moving from Ibeshe towards TOS Benson are to maintain their normal route, while non-articulated vehicles heading towards Ogolonto are advised to connect through Apena Jumbo Street to the Garage.
