The National Commander of Man O’ War in Nigeria, Adedamola Gbenga Emmanuel, has urged stronger collaboration between citizens, government, and security agencies to safeguard schools across the country.
Speaking at an event in Abuja to mark his 45th birthday, Emmanuel noted that while insecurity remains a global challenge, security must be treated as a shared responsibility.
He commended security agencies for their efforts but stressed the need for greater involvement at the grassroots and community levels.
“We have identified a gap in the security architecture, which is the safety of schools, and we have taken up the challenge through our Safe Schools Initiative. We are in discussions with the government to integrate Man O’ War into this project, so we can provide security for schools and assist in intelligence gathering,” he explained.
Emmanuel, who is also the founder of the Centre for Peace and Community Repositioning, reflected on his journey at 45, describing it as both joyful and bittersweet due to the absence of his late parents.
