Earlier today at 10:55 am, a Mattini Air private jet, CL60 aircraft with registration number N580KR overshot the runway at Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport in Ibadan.
Fortunately, there were no casualties as the 15 people on board, including 12 passengers and 3 crew members, were successfully evacuated by the FAAN Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Service.
The incident, attributed to brake failure, led the aircraft to overrun runway 22 and come to a stop 170m from the end of runway 04, and 60m from the threshold.
Notably, this incident follows a similar occurrence involving a chartered HS 125 aircraft from Flint Aero at the Ibadan airport just two months ago, around 8:21 pm during the pilot’s landing approach
