The Lagos State Government has taken its land administration online to enable transactions to be done virtually instead of the usual practice of going to the Land Bureau in Alausa, Ikeja.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who launched the land administration portal, said the idea was to truly make land administration seamless and a twenty-first century compliant.
Governor Sanwo-Olu said the land portal would help other ministries, departments, and agencies to have access to information at the click of a button.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on e-GIS and Urban Development, Dr. Olajide Babatunde said the land automation system would help residents to solve land documentation issues from the comfort of their homes within three days after payment.
The Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro, who initiated the project when he was the Permanent Secretary, Lands Bureau, said the online portal rested on the past developments in the office.
Mr Agoro said the portal would ensure efficiency, and curb forgery and other corrupt practices in land administration.
