Motivational speaker advocates Gender parity as panacea for inequality

There is a need for gender parity to achieve gender equality and address the slow pace of progress in empowering women and girls globally.

A motivational speaker, Mrs Itunuoluwa Adejuwon, made the call while featuring as guest on Issues in the news, a Radio One News and Current Affairs programme

Mrs Adejuwon frowned at gender disparity by parents among their boy and girl child, saying such could erode self-confidence and create a future disaster.

“Marking this year’s International Women’s Day, the society must enbrace gender parity. No child is inferior or superior to the other, the government must also put in place policies that can forge a better life for the women. “

Mrs Adejuwon encouraged parents to allow their children irrespective of genders to learn life skills such as cooking, changing tyres, gas filling, and bulbs fixing among others, noting that life should be lived to its fullest by all.
