MUSWEN to Build Youth Entrepreneurial Centre in the South West Region

As part of efforts to check unemployment especially among the youths, the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria, MUSWEN,  an umbrella body for Muslims in the Southwest, plans to build a world-class Resource and Entrepreneurial centre in Ibadan, Oyo State.

A statement by Chairman, Organising Committee, Alhaji Lere Alimi’ and MUSWEN Executive Secretary Prof. Muslih Yahya, says a 10 billion naira  endowment fund would be launched in Lagos to achieve this.

According to the statement, youths will be able to acquire functional commercial skills, capacity development to start and grow business and will have  open access to funding and financing opportunities at the Centre which will also serve as the National Secretariat of MUSWEN.

It states that the centre will have many components including entrepreneurial  business development services, Social Security, Healthcare, Agricultural and Food Intervention, Counselling, Training and Skill Acquisition services, 100-guest chalets, Jumah mosque, shopping and multi-purpose halls, banquets and restaurants among others.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Awujale of Ijebuland Oba Sikiru Adetona and Sultan of Sokoto and President-General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs,Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar,  as well as Southwest governors, lawmakers, royal fathers, ministers and captains of industry are expected to attend the launch of the endowment fund this weekend in Lagos.
