The Nigerian Air Force has recorded a significant operational milestone with the inauguration of the reactivated Super Puma helicopter (NAF 565) at the mobility command in Lagos.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, reaffirmed the Service’s resolve to sustain decisive airpower in defence of the nation.
Air Marshal Sunday Aneke said the Super Puma’s return reflects deliberate efforts to ensure the Nigerian Air Force remains fully prepared to discharge its constitutional responsibilities and maintain operational superiority across multiple theatres.
The CAS while listing the aircraft’s operational value, described the Super Puma as one of the most versatile rotary-wing platforms in the NAF inventory.
Air Marshal.Aneke noted that the Super PUMA helicopter had proven its worth in Operation Hadin Kai and other joint missions, as well as significantly enhance maritime security operations in Lagos while reinforcing counterinsurgency and anti-banditry efforts nationwide.
He urged personnel responsible for operating and maintaining the aircraft to uphold strict safety and maintenance standards.
The Air Chief expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his steadfast support toward airpower development, and also praised the teams behind the reactivation.
The Air Officer Commanding Mobility Command Air Vice Marshal Mike Onyenbashi pointed out that in no doubt the platform will significantly enhanced the current efforts across the various theatres in the country stating that captains are already on ground.
The reactivated NAF SUPER PUMA helicopter has done exploits within and outside the nation including Sierra Leone and Liberia.
