The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has officially been presented the Air Traffic Control (ATC) Simulator Certificate by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
According to NAMA, this is another major milestone in its quest to strengthen air traffic management and capacity building.
As contained in a statement, the certificate was handed to NAMA’s Managing Director, Mr. Farouk Umar, at a brief ceremony by the Director, Air Traffic Control, Mr. John Tayo in Abuja.
Mr. Tayo commended the role of the Local Management at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) and the Department of Technical Evaluation and Manpower Development under the Directorate of Air Traffic Control, noting their contributions to the successful certification process.
In his remarks, Mr. Umar described the development as a landmark achievement for the agency, praising the teamwork that brought it to fruition.
He stressed that the ATC Simulator would significantly enhance manpower development, boost operational efficiency, and reinforce safety within Nigeria’s airspace.
Mr. Umar said, the certification is a crucial step towards advancing aviation training in the country and aligning Nigeria with global best practices in air traffic management.
