NAPTIP Launches HR Reform Drive to Empower, Motivate Workforce

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has kicked off a strategic workshop aimed at reforming its human resource and training policies to boost efficiency, accountability, and staff motivation across the Agency.

The workshop, holding in Keffi, Nasarawa State, is being organized in collaboration with the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) and supported by the Ministry of Asylum and Migration of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

It focuses on reviewing NAPTIP’s Scheme and Conditions of Service, as well as its organizational structure, to align with national public service standards and modern operational needs.

Declaring the workshop open, NAPTIP’s Director General, Binta Adamu Bello, OON, described the initiative as a “critical milestone” in strengthening the Agency’s internal systems and enhancing its capacity to combat human trafficking, protect victims, and promote safe migration.“

As the Agency grows in scope and responsibilities, a coherent and forward-looking structure becomes vital,” Bello said.

“This reform will entrench fairness, transparency, and accountability while motivating staff to deliver their best in service to the nation.”

Bello commended ICMPD and the Kingdom of the Netherlands for their sustained support in strengthening NAPTIP’s institutional capacity, noting that the partnership has played a key role in promoting good governance and organizational reform.

Also speaking, the Head of ICMPD Mission in Nigeria, Ms. Isabelle Wolfsgruber, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting NAPTIP and other key institutions in Nigeria’s fight against human trafficking.

She urged participants to develop an actionable framework that would reposition the Agency for greater impact.

Participants at the workshop lauded the initiative, describing it as timely and essential to improving professionalism, productivity, and staff welfare within NAPTIP.
