A prominent Islamic organization, the Nasrul-Lahi-L-Faith Society, NASFAT, has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting faith-based messages, championing community development, and collaborating with other religious organizations to foster peaceful coexistence and societal values.
The President of NASFAT, Alhaji Abdul-Wahid Abdul-Rauf, stated this at a media briefing in Alausa, Ikeja, to kick off the commemoration of the association’s thirtieth anniversary, themed “Leading The Way: NASFAT as an Agent of Change,”
Alhaji Abdul-Rauf emphasized that the organization has been actively providing welfare and community services since its inception and noted that these efforts have significantly addressed various community challenges and facilitated substantial reforms to enhance organizational capacity.
Alhaji Abdul-Rauf highlighted that Nigeria’s multi-religious, multilingual, and multicultural landscape requires a commitment to purposeful leadership, tolerance, peace, and non-violence when addressing internal and external issues.
He stressed that tolerance and conflict resolution are vital for any society striving for development, progress, and unity, urging Nigerian leaders to embrace peace and non-violence.
In his remarks, the Chief Missioner of NASFAT, Imam Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Onike, described the association’s journey as fulfilling and rewarding, reiterating that NASFAT continues to promote moral awakening by exemplifying and advocating the moral values and standards of Islam.
He also announced plans for establishing an arbitration centre aimed at helping both Muslims and non-Muslims resolve disputes amicably, in line with the country’s secular framework.
Contributing, the Chairman of the anniversary committee, Alhaji Isiaq Oshinuga, shared that the purpose of the anniversary program is to showcase the organization’s dedication to nurturing faith, community development, and propagating Islamic values.
He outlined the activities planned for the thirtieth anniversary, including visits to charity homes, a special Jumat service, and a campaign walk against child abuse and gender violence.
