Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, has felicitated with Nigerians on the occasion of the New Year celebration.
A statement signed by the President of the Association, Mrs. Ladi Bala, notes that year 2021 no doubt posed some challenges owing to insecurity and the economic down turn that caused some measures of hardship, as the nation was not spared of the global melt down occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic
The NAWOJ president however reiterated the need for more commitment from the leaders towards a better Nigeria .
While calling on Nigerians to take national building as a collective responsibility,
She express hope that through fervent prayers, Nigeria shall overcome its present challenges.
Mrs. Bala urged Nigerians to remain steadfast and demonstrate more patriotism as well as shun divisive tendencies and all forms of bigotry, and should focus on building a better and greater nation where every one is recognised and appreciated.
NAWOJ also appealed to Journalists to work more towards entrenching an effective political culture and acceptable processes, preparatory to the transition of power in 2023.
