NAWOJ Lagos Unveils Official Website to Boost Visibility, Accessibility

The Lagos Chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has launched its official website, marking a major milestone in the association’s drive for innovation, visibility, and accessibility.

The launch took place during the maiden Congress of the current executive committee led by Chairperson, Comrade Jumoke Falayi Johnson, barely a month after assuming office.

Johnson, who described the achievement as a collective effort, expressed gratitude to past leaders and members who contributed content and ideas. She noted that the website features user-friendly landing pages, attractive designs, and will serve as a platform for interaction, event updates, and the preservation of NAWOJ Lagos history.

“This project was made possible by teamwork. The website will serve as a window to the world, highlight our activities, and strengthen engagement with members and the public,” Johnson said.

The website was officially launched by immediate past Chairperson, Dr. Adeola Ekine, supported by Comrades Tosin Odusola and Queen Ugeh.

Dr. Ekine described the project as long overdue, praising Johnson’s leadership for bringing fresh momentum and focus to NAWOJ Lagos.

Other members commended the initiative, stressing that the digital platform will expand the association’s outreach, advocacy, and capacity-building programmes, especially for young female journalists.

The development signals a new phase for NAWOJ Lagos in its mission to promote professional excellence and advance gender equality within the media industry.
