NDDC Urges Youths to Harness Technology, Partnerships for Brighter Future

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has called on Nigerian youth to embrace technology and forge strategic partnerships as key tools for driving sustainable development across the country.

Speaking during activities marking the 2025 International Youth Day, the NDDC leadership highlighted the transformative power of technology in solving everyday challenges, from agriculture and education to healthcare and entrepreneurship.

The Commission stressed that young Nigerians are uniquely positioned to become innovators and change-makers if they fully tap into digital tools and collaborative networks.

The NDDC noted that in a rapidly changing global economy, skills in areas such as software development, data analytics, renewable energy solutions, and digital business models are no longer optional but essential for competitiveness.

Strategic partnerships whether with other youths, civil society groups, or global tech innovators were described as crucial for scaling solutions and attracting investment.

“Young people are the backbone of our nation’s future,” the Commission stated. “By leveraging technology and building strong coalitions, they can not only create jobs for themselves but also address pressing community needs in innovative ways.

”The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to supporting youth-focused programs in the Niger Delta and beyond, including training initiatives, innovation hubs, and mentorship schemes designed to equip young people with practical, market-ready skills.

International Youth Day 2025, themed “Youth Driving Change in a Digital Age”, serves as a reminder of the vital role young Nigerians can play in shaping a prosperous and inclusive future if they boldly step into the digital space and work together for the common good.
