Ndigbo Lagos APC Harps On Unity Among Nigerians
The Lagos State Ndigbo in All Progressives Congress has called on residents in the state to strive to make a mark in the Nigerian political sphere.
The group also called on members to visit Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register and get their voters card, noting that the exercise is ongoing.
The group made the call at the Ndigbo stakeholders and leaders conference which had all Ndigbo in APC coordinators and chairmen of the 57 local government and Local Council Development Area in attendance.
The State Chiarman of Ndigbo in APC, Eze Uche Dimgba said the time had come for more truly born Igbo descendants to embrace APC in the State so that the dividend of democracy would reach everyone.
He explained that a right thinking person should not opt out of a winning party and as such more people should consider partnering with the ruling party in Lagos state.
On his part, the special adviser to Lagos state governor on drainage services, Mr Joe Igbokwe emphasized the need for continuous synergy among all the various tribes in the state for a better Nigeria.
According to him, “the reason we are here is to build bridges across Nigeria. Not only to build bridges in Lagos and Igbo land but across Nigeria. We want to be relevant in the country. You cannot stay in one corner and think they will bring power to you. We must understand that.”
He therefore admonished them pray for peace to return to South East.
“Pray for sanity to return to South East. Pray for peace of Igbo land, we must not joke with it. In doing so, we will enjoy the dividend of democracy.”
