The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has unveiled a new digital portal to automate its Drug Integrity Test and Visa Clearance processes.
The initiative aims to boost efficiency, transparency, and curb substance abuse across the country.
Unveiling the platform in Abuja on Tuesday, NDLEA Chairman, Buba Marwa , described it as a “paradigm shift where enforcement meets efficiency.”
Represented by the Agency Secretary, Mr. Shadrach Haruna, Marwa said the new system, called the Drug Integrity Test and Visa E-Administration System (DITViCAS), replaces the old manual method prone to delays and human interference.
According to NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Mr. Femi Babafemi, the system allows applicants to register, book appointments, and apply from home via www.drugandvisa.ndlea.gov.ng.
The platform also accredits private medical centers for testing and includes an e-certification feature to prevent certificate forgery.
Visa clearance is expected to be processed within three to seven days.
Marwa noted that the innovation aligns with NDLEA’s Drug Demand Reduction Strategy, describing the integrity test as an “early-warning tool” that focuses on prevention and intervention.
He added that the service is open to individuals, organizations, students, parents, and prospective couples, encouraging a culture of health and accountability.
The NDLEA said the digital transformation reinforces its mission to safeguard communities and strengthen Nigeria’s global image.
