Media organisations in the country have been charged to ensure it gives contents that will be sustainable and will have impact on the people and consumed not only locally but globally.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi gave the charge at the maiden Edition of the DG’s roundtable on the theme, “Sustainable Content Creation in a Fragmented Media Space”, in Lagos.
Director General, Voice Nigeria (VON) , Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndache, who represented the Minister commended the organisers for adopting the theme stressing that it must go beyond producing information to build a resilient ecosystem.

“Such messages must inform, educate, entertain, and, most importantly, uphold ethical values,” the minister noted.
Mallam Ndache added that the Voice of Nigeria is expanding its reach, currently broadcasting in eight languages, with plans to include more.
He emphasised VON’s mission to create global awareness and connect Nigeria’s brand with audiences at home and abroad.
Former Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in his goodwill message at the Nigeria Electronic Media Content Exhibition and Awards (NEMCEA 2025), highlighted the transformation of the broadcast industry.

“A decade ago, broadcasting followed a single path — producers created, broadcasters aired, and families tuned in at fixed hours.
That pattern has dissolved.
Today’s audiences roam freely across screens, from television to smartphones and digital radio,” he said.
Stakeholders at the conference called for stronger policies, funding support, and training initiatives to scale digital content production and position Nigeria as West Africa’s cultural hub.
Meanwhile, in a goodwill message, the Director- General, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Dr Mohammed Bulama, congratulated the organisers for promoting the Nigerian Electronic Media industry NEMCEA for sustaining the tempo of providing content. Speaking to the theme of the conference which is “Sustainable Content Creation in a Fragmented Media Space”, the DG explained that with the help of Radio Nigeria News which is to inform, educate, and entertain through quality broadcasting, it has become imperative to wish everyone involved in NEMCEA to look forward to seeing the impact of the event on Nigeria media scale as Radio Nigeria will continue to give it’s best through robust broadcasting.

The DG’s message was presented by the Head, Corporate Development and Communications, FRCN, Mr OSana Omame.
Project Director, Mr. Stephen T. Alayande, described this year’s edition as a landmark event, citing innovations introduced to enhance participants’ experience and empower the industry.
