NEMSA, NDPHC Move to End Nigeria’s Poor Power Installation

The Nigeria Electricity Management Services Agency and Niger Delta Power Holding Company have strengthened collaboration to ensure that all electrical materials, equipment, and engineering installations used across Nigeria’s power sector meet global safety and quality standards.

The renewed partnership was reaffirmed during a courtesy visit by NEMSA Managing Director and Chief Electrical Inspector of the Federation, Olusegun Adesayo, to the Managing Director of NDPHC, Jennifer Adighije, at the company’s headquarters in Abuja.
Speaking during the meeting, Adighije stressed the urgent need for durable and standard-compliant infrastructure as Nigeria battles persistent electricity problems and a growing infrastructure deficit. She described NDPHC as a key player in the power sector with investments spanning electricity generation, transmission, and distribution nationwide.
According to her, the company has made significant investments in transformers, substations, transmission lines, switchyards, and other critical facilities, insisting that such national assets must comply with strict technical and safety requirements to guarantee reliability and long-term sustainability.
Adighije noted that closer collaboration with NEMSA is essential as Nigeria intensifies efforts to modernise its electricity network and improve power supply to homes, industries, and businesses. She added that NEMSA’s inspection and regulatory responsibilities remain crucial in ensuring quality assurance, operational safety, and compliance with international best practices across the power industry.
