New Technical Officials Emerge at Abia Warriors

The newly appointed Chairman of Abia Warriors Football Club John Obuh, who formally took over the affairs of the club today 19 July 2023, has swung into action with the appointment of veteran Nigeria Ex-International, Emeka Ifejiagwa as the club new Sporting Director.

The appointment also detailed Bethel Orji as the club’s new assistant coach.

Obu, the former coach of Nigeria Under 20 football team, who made the announcement during his inaugural meeting with staff and members of the club, revealed that the new appointments are with immediate effect as the team begins preparations for the new coming season in the top-flight.

The new Sporting Director, Emeka Ifejiagwa, plied his trade with Udoji United, Iwuanyanwu Nationale and Bendel Insurance in Nigeria.

He also played for Charlton Athletic and Brighton & Hove Albion in England; CA Osasuna in Spain; and VfL Wolfsburg and Waldhof Mannheim in Germany.

The new assistant gaffer, Bethel Orji, had stints as a coach with Abia Warriors, Enyimba Feeders and Abia Comets.

Coach John Obuh charged the new personnel to put in their best by working with the chief coach of the club Erasmus Onu and ensure that Abia Warriors make Abians and Nigerians proud.
