Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has expressed confidence that next year general elections in the Country will be free and fair.
Addressing Government House Correspondents at the airport in Ikeja, Governor Sanwo-Olu who has been away in Abuja for the All Progressives Congress National Convention, thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for ensuring a free, fair and transparent party’s Primaries.
“After thanking God for the successful outcome of the primaries, it is also to thank President Buhari, who kept to his word, he did ensure that we had an open, free and fait, transparent process. It’s really about all of us and the beginning of that journey to the elections next year, I believe that it will also be free and fair” he said
Governor Sanwo-Olu who had served as the Chairman, Committee on Finance at the just concluded APC primaries was given a rousing welcome by Party faithful, traditional rulers and members of his cabinet who had thronged to the Presidential wing of the local airport, Ikeja.
On the annual Democracy Day, Governor Sanwo-Olu called for collaborative support to nurture the Country’s Democracy to enhance extensive progress across all sectors.
“It is still about togetherness, all of us, all holding on to grow, the democracy is still very very young, so, all of us has a role to play to ensure that extensive progress are made in this our nascent democracy” the Governor said.
