Nigerians Asked To Shun Anger And Hatred In Post Elections

Nigerians have been asked to shun all forms of anger and hatred being  noticed  in some quarters in the country after the general elections. 

This is to enable the nation to forge ahead as one indivisible nation. 

The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat gave the charge  in Dodan Baracks Lagos where top government officials in the state observed the Eid-Fitri prayers. 

He said it was high time every Nigerian should work towards setting the Nation on a better pedestal of development rather than wallow in  anger or bitterness which would not augur well for the nation.

Dr. Hamzat  stressed that it was high time  Nigerians should  get down to work and support their leaders in making the nation a better place to live.

The Deputy Governor however, enjoined all Muslims not to discard the lessons learnt during the Ramadan by ensuring that they lived a selfless life filled with love for humanity. 

In a sermon, the Chief Imam of Lagos State, Sheikh Sulayman Abou-Noĺla called on Nigerians, political leaders in particular, to always remember that they would give account of whatever they do on earth to God after death.

He said that political leaders should always remember that being elected into office is a divine call and as such should deliver on their mandate accordingly  in the fear of God. 

The Chief Imam prayed for peace and harmony in the country. 

Other dignitaries at the Eid- prayers are the Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Raji Fashola, Former Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu and a former Minister for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro
