Nigerian movie industry has lost one of its veteran actresses, Shola Onayiga, who played the role of Ireti, in the popular soap, Fuji House of commotion.
She was also nicknamed as Kitchen Practical in Fuji House of commotion due to her poor cooking skills
Onaiyiga’s death was confirmed by her husband Pastor Tosin Onaiyiga to newsmen.
The details of the cause of the actress’ death have not been revealed but she was confirmed to have given up in the early hours of today, 18th of July.
Shola Onaiyiga hails from Ikorodu, Lagos State and studied Theatre Arts at the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University in 1981.
Her first professional job was a stage play , The king Must Dance Naked by Fred Agbeyegbe where she played Queen Odosun, one of the main characters
Ireti as she was fondly called has also featured in some Yoruba dramas on Television before Checkmate
The veteran actress has also featured in some Radio drama, one of which was on Radio Nigeria, where she played the role of Madam Sikira in Theatre on Air.
