NRC Police Arrest Kingpin, Recover Trailer of Stolen Rail Materials

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) Police Command has arrested a suspected kingpin, Musa Abdullahi, popularly known as “Major,” in Kaduna for allegedly buying vandalized railway materials.

Abdullahi, 32, confessed to purchasing stolen electrical cables worth ₦90,000 from vandals along the Mando–Rigasa corridor.

In a related operation, NRC Police in Plateau State intercepted an abandoned trailer loaded with large quantities of railway materials along the Forom axis.

The vehicle was later towed to the Jos Railway Police Station for investigation.

Managing Director of the NRC, Dr. Kayode Opeifa, praised the police for their intelligence-led operations, describing the arrests and recovery as proof of renewed collaboration with security agencies.

He vowed continued partnership with the Nigeria Police and other security formations to ensure vandals and their collaborators face justice.

Opeifa condemned railway vandalism as economic sabotage and urged residents of host communities to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities around railway installations.
